Art Friends sessions are led by experienced artists who love teaching, creative coaching, and spending time with older adults. We're not art therapists and Art Friends is not a clinical or licensed service — just enthusiastic artists and creatives who believe that a great two hours making something beautiful is good for the soul. If you're looking for a licensed art therapy program, the American Art Therapy Association maintains a directory of credentialed professionals at arttherapy.org.
Art Friends was founded by Robin Noelle, a Charlotte-area artist, writer, and senior content strategist with 20+ years of professional experience and a lifelong creative practice. Robin's background spans a wide range of mediums, from acrylic painting and sculpture to printmaking, photography, collage, and mixed media, developed across years of studio coursework and sustained by daily art practice. Robin founded Art Friends because she believes creativity makes life better, at every age and every ability level and sometimes all it takes is the right person showing up with a little guidance and encouragement.
